20,000 Monks - M14

Word spread the evening before, 20,000 Monks are to assemble at the old Mandalay Airport for a huge donation ceremony. We head out in the early morning dark to find this spectacle. In an incredibly organized fashion, streams of Monks, donors, and onlookers steadily found their way to their designated places. Ceremonies, prayers, and chants were performed until the sun rose over the crowds. Then as a final salute, the sea of Monks in red streamed through to their designated offerings.
